This week, SMS Equipment celebrated the grand opening of the newest facility in our network, a $30M expansion of our Timmins, Ontario branch. The location brings our mining, construction and forestry expertise together within a new complex that features more space, additional services and a growing team.

Keeping equipment running at peak performance—and problem-solving when the unexpected happens —is nothing new for our SMS Equipment team. They’re well-versed in visiting remote mine sites to service, maintain and troubleshoot. But doing it all while cameras are rolling? That was a first when SMS Equipment made its TV debut last year on Season 2 of Hoffman Family Gold.

Together, SMS Equipment and the Fort McMurray First Nation Group of Companies (FMFN Group) are taking significant steps towards economic growth and community development, fostering opportunity, vibrancy, and prosperity.

SMS Equipment has made a generous contribution to the capital campaign for the expansion of the Winspear Centre, a project that will transform the Edmonton performance space into a 215,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art cultural attraction dedicated to enhancing the accessibility of music in the community.
